Barthel/Ribbe Duo

Anna-Karina Barthel und Carlotta Ribbe lernten sich an der Folkwang Universität der Künste sowie im Landes Jugend Jazz Orchester NRW kennen. In der außergewöhnlichen Besetzung aus Stimme und Vibraphon verbinden sie eigene Kompositionen mit Arrangements bekannter Melodien. 2023 gewann das Duo den Domicil Förderpreis, 2025 den Wettbewerb „Women in Jazz“. Ihr aktuelles Debütalbum „Who Am I“ stellen sie in diesem Konzert vor.
Anna-Karina Barthel and Carlotta Ribbe met while studying at the Folkwang University of the Arts and through their time in the Landes Jugend Jazz Orchester NRW. In their unusual duo setting of voice and vibraphone, they combine original compositions with arrangements of well-known melodies. The duo won the Domicil Förderpreis in 2023 and the Women in Jazz competition in 2025. Their debut album “Who Am I”, released recently, will be presented in this concert.
